Photos: The Bighorn Fire in Coronado National Forest near Tucson

The lightning-caused Bighorn Fire burned through the rocky, steep Pusch Ridge area and into upper reaches of Pima Canyon, according to officials with the Coronado National Forest. As of Wednesday, it has consumed 3,277 acres. There is 10% containment. It’s largely an aerial assault with helicopters dipping at Rose Canyon Lake and Catalina State Park, and larger air tankers from Libby Army Air Field, Mesa Gateway Airport and elsewhere. But there are five hand crews rotating into the difficult terrain.
