Helicopters, tankers and crews still fighting fires in Boise National Forest

Two fires sparked in the Boise National Forest this week, prompting the evacuation of campers.

Fire officials say multiple aircraft are responding to the Golden Fire and the Warm Fire.

The Golden Fire is about three miles southwest of Coulter Summit in the Idaho City Ranger District. Five helicopters, single-engine air tankers, large air tankers, and water scoopers are dropping water and retardant to slow the fire’s spread.
