Fundraising Helicopter Busy Fighting Bees Nest Fire as Well as Contributing to Cancer Council

Residents facing the Northern Tablelands fires might breathe a sigh of relief if they see a flash of pink.

But ‘Lucy’, one of the helicopters helping the RFS efforts to tackle the Bees Nest fire, is painted pink for a reason. Owner Lockey Onslow decided to paint the chopper the distinctive color and to donate a portion of his income to the NSW Cancer council.

The helicopter is operating out of Ebor Base 1, but is normally part of Armidale’s Fleet Helicopters.
