With brisk winds snapping the triangular “red warning” flag flying outside the Hutchinson Fire Command Center, it seemed the perfect day for Bill Garrison to demonstrate the capabilities of his rejuvenated air tanker.
Garrison, 56, of Nickerson, acquired the retired Grumman S-2 Tracker from an air museum in Nevada to bring it into service fighting wildfires in Kansas.
