Colorado Dept. of Wildfire Prevention and Control announces Air Tanker Demonstration

Denver, CO- The Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control (DFPC) along with Airstrike Firefighters will be hosting a media day, featuring Airstrike’s P-3 firefighting airtanker and DFPCs contracted COFire Single Engine Air Tanker (SEAT).

These air tankers will conduct a demonstration drop using BLAZETAMER380, a water enhancer (Gel) at Northern Colorado Regional Airport in Loveland, CO.

DFPCs call when needed contract with Airstrike will allow the State of Colorado (and federal agencies, if requested) to access Airstrike’s P-3 firefighting airtankers to help combat wildfires in the state.  

“This agreement ensures that we could have the appropriate suppression resources available to protect the citizens of the State of Colorado for years to come,” said DFPC Director Mike Morgan. “The P-3 Orion is a proven aerial asset that can operate efficiently in our high-altitude and high-temperature conditions.”

The demonstration will be held June 28 from 10am-12pm with air tanker drops commencing at 1030am.
