AIR RESOURCES RESPONDING TO ‘CLEMONS’ WILDFIRE; REPORTEDLY OVER 1,000 ACRES WEST OF WHEATLAND

CASPER, Wyo. —  Two helicopters, two Single Engine Air Tankers (SEATs), and 5 engines are responding to a wildfire west of Wheatland in Sybille Canyon, according to InciWeb.

The wildfire is called the “Clemons” wildfire and was initially discovered at about 6 pm Wednesday, July 8. InciWeb says the cause of the fire is under investigation and lists Wyoming State Forestry as responding to the fire.

While InciWeb reported the size of the fire at 282 acres as of about 10:30 am Thursday, the National Weather Service in Cheyenne said at 11 am that the fire had “rapidly intensified and increased in coverage to over 1000 acres as of earlier this morning.”
